Scofield 12/26
#1
Starting fishing at around 7:30 am and caught a chub first time down. I was concerned the day would be a chubfest but it was the only chub of the day. I caught dozens of cuts in the slot with a few smaller ones as well. I only caught one rainbow and she was a beauty at 19.5 inches. No tigers were to be found. I left at around 11:30 when things slowed down. Most fish were caught on an old school white and pink foxee jig (I sure miss those) tipped with a crawler with very aggressive jigging at times.

The majority of fish were also caught right under the ice. It was fun to watch the fish take the jig that close to the surface. The ice was 10 inches thick and I was in 10 feet of water.

No pictures as I get to caught up in fishing and forget to take them.

Thinking about hitting Scofield on New years day with the kids. Can you give me any tips on a spot or water depth. I havent been there in years and just want to show them a good time. Thanks

My son and I fished it on the 26th and it was steady fishing most of the day. The chubs were schooled up on the bottom so we avoided fishing that deep.

We were fishing in 15 feet of water between the island and the east shore sportsmans access. It's a decent walk if you don't have a sled or wheeler. We tried the island for a little bit, but the bite was slow so we moved back to the middle. The cutts were 2 - 5 feet under the ice. Most we're skinny and in the 12" range. The biggest we caught was a fat 19" cutt.

Good luck!
