[fishin] Sunday the 29th , So hot the water is open . See picture.
You can fish by the bank up from the dock caught 2 trout all fish were unharmed and released. Slow and nothing moving in the area on the screen.
A few more weeks I guess if were lucky.

How thick was the ice? It's hard to tell from the photos, but looks around 4"+ ??? How far from the docks could you head out? 4" is about my safety point.

The ice is NOT SAFE! i fished it saturday from the boat dock. i have to repeat the ice is NOT SAFE!!!!!!! the ice is 4 inches thick in spots and then can intantly be 1 inch thick. please do not attempt to walk on the ice yet. we stood on the dock and easily punched our holes with a tire iron.

Every year on Ririe I see people who have no ice experience see others out fishing and assume all the ice must be safe. Then they head out onto ice that was open water the day before. Please use caution until the lake is solid!
