Does anyone know the ice conditions at Electric Lake? How is the access to the water? Any reports on what to use? I typically ice fish Strawberry and Scofield. Wanting to venture out to some new waters. Thanks in advance

I fished Electric Lake, 12/28/13 from 10 till 3, south end by the dam.
Ice Conditions: 8-10 inches of solid ice. Water is really low.
Access to the water: Not the easiest. I parked in the pull off up from the dam and hiked down and across the dam to the water. It's a ways, but not impossible. There is a gate you can get a person and a sled through, but not much else.
Fishing was fairly slow. I caught seven tigers and four cutts. I used a white jighead tipped with crawler. There were a few other groups fishing, but no one was catching alot.

E-lake has been fair the last 2 weeks.. some nice tigers and Bow's in there some of the cutt are doing ok.. access to the water can be a bit tough on the north end. snowmobile would be your best bet. i seen a guy down there on a side by side the other day i dont know if he got it back out tho.
i would not even try getting in on the north side with out a snowmobile or ski's or walking.. the south end did not look to bad seen that a lot of people have made the walk across the dam and down to the lake.. fishing can be really good there some days most days your doing good hitting 15 to 20 fish some days you can do much better others not so good.. i have never been skunked icing E-lake tho..
most the time i use a 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inch tube jig tipped with red side shiner. been killer this year.. talked to some others that have tried mealworms, worms, waxies but nothing has done as good as shiners..
hope that helps ya some..
