Any metal detectorist here?
I have been detecting since I was a wee little kid and just recently upgraded my machine and having a blast revisiting this hobby. I hate to say it but this may be more fun for me than fishing. [shocked]

I think that i have seen you on Tnet??
I have a Fisher f-70 but used to run a Fisher 1210-X. I am seriously thinking of getting into a Minelab but they are waay out of my price bracket.

You might have. I check out a different site now. The people on TNet are too crtitical of everything. PM me and Ill let you know where I got now. Lots of good people on the site. I had a Minelab Safari for a little bit but I couldnt get used to the fluty sounds it makes. Your F70 is a great machine. I was considering selling my MXT and going with an F75 due to the weight. But I decided to keep my whites. It has found me a lot of good stuff. The last good find was an 1855 O Seated half.

That is a good find!
My father and I used to go out long ago with an old cheap "jelco" or something like that and had a blast wearing it out. We found a fair share of decent coins and a gold ring. It is something I think I'd like to get back into. What does it cost to get a decent, not cheap, but not budget busting detector? I'm not familiar with the brands nowadays either.

You can get a decent machine for a good price. Id say about 250 to 400 will get you a detector that will pay for itself eventually. Garretts are decent. Look at the Ace models. And Whites has some good machines for around 400 or so. PM me if you are interested. Ill help you out with it.

I like to get out and detect a bit myself, it's been a couple of years since I was real active, but I have been slowly getting back into it.
I swing a Minelab Explorer XS. Also spend some time on Findmall (you can Google it)
Man I'd love to find a seated!
