FYI Don't quote me but I think this is how it went. 4th place was an 18 something incher. 3rd place was a 19 maybe something incher. 2nd place was 20 1/4 incher. 1st place was 22 1/2 incher. Paid the guy $1,800 on first place. $1,500 for first place plus $200 for big fish of the hour, and he must have caught it on another one of those Maniac Jigs. Maniac paid him another $100 for catching it on a Maniac. $1,800 not a bad day of fishing. Don't tell me those Maniacs dont catch fish. On another note we caught about 10 fish a piece. 13-15 inches. Me and my 4 boys. It was a tough bite. Congratulations to the winners.

Wow, I never would have guessed the winners caught that size of fish. All we could pull in where 12 to 14 inchers. IMO, it seems like the lake is lacking numbers of fish, especially size. In fact, we sat in one spot for almost two hours and only saw 1 fish come through on the our camera. We were even over decent structure. It made no sense to me. Kinda hard to catch a qualifier when you only see one fish. I was still a fun day. Congrats to the winners.

The bite was slow in the midday, I had a rough start because I forgot my Sorels and had to fish in tennis shoes but between 4 of us we got second place and 2 hourly
prizes. I got the 2nd place $1200. All and all we were pretty happy with the derby and the fishing.
