Hi everyone, I just started working in utah about 6 months ago in the oilfield outside of ouray. I was just wondering if someone could give me some tips and good places to icefish close to vernal or ouray? I drive by pelican lake quite often any recommendations where to fish at this lake this time of year?

Welcome to the oil patch.
Steinaker - 4 miles north of Vernal on Hwy 191. Rainbows, bluegill likely through the ice. Also has LM bass and a few nice browns.
Red Fleet - 12 miles north of Vernal off Hwy 191. Rainbows likely through ice. Also has walleye (mandatory kill), LM bass, some browns, and tons of small bluegill.
Pelican Lake - Bluegill and LM bass.
Big Sand Wash - 16 miles west of Roosevelt towards Altamont. Rainbows and a few browns likely through the ice. LM and SM bass are also possible.
These are the most popular spots for ice fishing out here. Of course there is also Flaming Gorge but it's a bit further away.

Sweet, think I'll try Pelican first then steinaker. I have a couple days off during rig skid so figure I better get out and make the best of it. Thanks for the recommendation!
