Muskrat, Chickamauga Lake, crappie, 1-14-14, solo
#1
I squeezed in a solo fishing trip today - Tuesday. I knew I better looking at the weather forecast for the next few days. Water was up from Sunday and a little more dingy. Water temperature 46 and touched 48 as I was leaving. It was a nice day with little wind. I fished for 4 hours and caught 24 crappie...2 yellow bass with about 3/4's of the crappie being keepers. Nothing outstanding though. I fished brushpiles...points...blowdowns with 1/16 and 1/8 oz. jigs. Jigs near the brushpiles were tipped with minnows I had left over from Sunday. I fished 8-20 feet with most of the fish caught in the 15-17 ft. range today. The last hour I only caught a leaf and a stick. A pic of my first crappie today with the only white crappie I caught.
