I've been trying to find what the limit on yellow perch is in Idaho and haven't been able to find anything in the regs at all. Can someone out there tell me this info, yellow perch limits?
Thanks

I don't know of any waters with a limit on Perch, Bluegill, Crappie, Catfish, or Carp. I've seen kokanee limits of 6 in some places, 25 in others. Brook Trout 25, except for Henries which has a 2 trout limit all around.
Is there a particular region you are going to fish the most?
There may be some limits somewhere, but I haven't seen it yet.
edit:
You can also use throw nets for perch, but I don't know if many people have tried or had much success.

Every fish should have some limit. It might be a very liberal limit but some limit. How many 10 pound catfish should someone keep? Is 1500 crappie too many for one family? Ron

I agree with Ron.
How many can someone use? To freezer burn and waste is wrong.

I don't feel the need for a written limit but then again I try to use some common sense and only keep what I am going to use. It would be nice if other folks would use the grey matter between their ears and not keep every fish that tugs on the end of the line to just take it home and throw it in the trash or let it sit in the freezer for a year and burn. Just my $.02.

I agree but. Did you ever see the Cottonwood camp ground at CJ about 5 to 7 years ago??? It was the most disgusting thing I ever saw. Dale I bet you saw that over there. Ron

Nasty. Down below the dam was terrible too. One time I drug the trash bin down the road so I could breath to sleep.

Thanks for the reply MMDon, I just wanted to know where I stood when fishing for perch. It's just not worth the ticket to be over on any fish species limit. I'm sure I don't have to worry to much about catching to many anyway and I would only prefer 10-20 on any given outing anyway.
I definitely agree with you on the no limit on perch as there are some folks that take more than neccessary. And they are getting to be a very popular fish these days, I would like to see them managed for future fishing. There's nothing quite like seeing a jumbo perch coming up through your ice hole.
Thanks to all the other folks who replied to my question, and I wish all of you tight lines and sunny skies.

Carey lake is one place that the F&G want a high harvest. The fish there are on the small side about 9" sometimes a little bigger. They can be tough to find but they do want to thin them out. Ron

True, I didn't see it for myself but have heard about it. That in itself might have been enough to sway my opinion, I just wish people would think instead of needing to write an extra law...

I know right, we have all these freedoms, then they make a law and we lose .

My barn cats love it when we make a run to Roberts gravel pond.
