Pete Jr. took me fishing yestd. out of Riverpark. The flow was 57K cfs with a few gates open, the surface temp was 39-40. He put me on a nice 5 lb. 9 oz. TARP smallie - THANKS, Man! It hit a jig/pig, tangled my line in the lower unit, got untangled and came to net. I was lucky to get it in the boat! Pete hooked a smallie in the 4-5 lb. range on a spinner bait that got off right at the boat. Later he got his keeper smallie (19.25 in.) on a tube. Made us glad to both get a keeper smallie as tough as its been. We also got a couple of decent spots and a boatload of drum. All fish released.

I complained about the tough smallie fishing in my last post. Well, we had to work for them yestd. too. We spent 9 hours on the water. We did take a leisurely lunch break during which Elwest (Earl) stopped by and we had a nice chat. He also complained about the difficult smallmouth fishery.
