willard bay questions

I might go to Willard bay soon since the marina is open water. does anyone have any tips on how to fish for catfish in the winter? I don't really know what kind of bait to use and where to fish in the marina. Also I will be fishing from the shore.

The North marina might be open water but it is only about a foot deep, unless you fish the channel. I haven't been up there for a week, so I'm not sure how far away from shore the ice is now but your best bet is to just fish a night crawler or a small minnow right on the bottom.
