Utah Steel Shot Requirement for Upland Game?

A friend of mine was in a meeting with the Utah Legislature the other day. In it there was talk about banning lead shot and requiring non-toxic shot when hunting upland game. Has anyone else heard about this? It is probably inevitable, but I would hope the state would have a grace period for citizens and businesses to use up or sell what they already have. Not the kind of news I want to hear!

There has been some small talk on and off about this for several years. Hopefully it never gets any traction. I would also hope that if it does, we as sportsmen would stand up and tell our elected officials we are against it. There is no reason to ban lead shot while hunting upland game, unless on a WMA.
