Jordan River
#1
Well, had a great morning of fishing on the Jordan today. Started just north of Thanksgiving Point, then tried at Powell Lake, and ended at the Pumphouse. The catching was awful, the wind frigid, but the company was good! Saw tons of ducks, geese, and sandhill cranes.

We were trying for kitties using chunks of anchovies, switched to hope to get a gill or white bass using tube jigs tipped with chovies, but no love. It was rare to find water deeper than a foot. Any tips or suggestions for catching on the Jordan? ( I have tried about 3-4 times now without ever getting a nibble, so anything is helpful).
Thanks

Start with the simple worm, you should get into the suckers if anything then find a deep whole and use little chuncks of sucker meat and hold on , I like fishing north of thanksgivig point I uasually just walk through the river until I find a hole. Good luck

I spent time at Willow Park saturday with no love. Tried chad and worm. Got a few nibbles on worms but no body wanted to hang on. The river was full of carp, probably could have had fun with a bow.

Just below pumphouse by the model plane park there are several holes I take kids to and stuff in the winter. I use very small jigs, ice jigs and curly tails, and roadrunner types and I do great, but for small fish. Time of day seems to matter, and is random, but the warm springs keep the fish active. I get small crappie, bluegills, mudcats, green sunfish, whitebass and baby walleye all the time, but very slim on the keepers. Never caught a good size cat there or walleye.
