deer creek/ little dell
#1
Took a friend to Deer Creek wed. Went to the main ramp or by the dam. Got there in the morning, at the same time 6 other boats were launching. Fished the tracks side near the dam in the morning. Started the day with a fat bow and a few decent size fish. Trolled around a little but no fish. Moved to a few spots and started fishing the shore. Found a spot with a lot of spawning bows. Fish on! For hours! One dc brown! Lost/missed a bunch. Wind picked up, fishing got tough but the bite never stopped. Had to anchor in a few spots til the wind was too much and we had to leave. Trolled in the wallsburg bay before leaving, caught one fat bow. Great fishing... Fished little dell tonight in the wind. Threw big lures looking for these so called monster cutts. Caught a bunch of skinny 12-14 in cutts, a bow (last pic) and possibly a brown, lost it close to shore. Talked to a guy who caught a few on streamers fly fishing. Fish were rising at sunset but too windy today for me to to take the fly rod out. maybe a fly/bubble combo would work. Good fishing, hard fighting fish.

When you say you were fishing the shore did you stay in your boat and just cast into shore and reel back to the boat or were you trolling along the shore with your boat?? I have a 4 year old I am gonna take she loves to ride around and troll and most of all reel in fish but she hasnt masterd casting yet so I mostly troll with her. I have never been to Deer Creek but we may show up there Sunday morning if I can get her out of bed. If you dont mind saying what lures worked best for you.. Thanks for the pics and any info you willing to tell me
