Got my boat out of the shop yesterday. Took it to WB south and just poked the stern in the water to fire up the OB to see how well she runs. Seems all the issues I took it in for were fixed. So plans are to get out on Willard in the morning about 7:30 ish and get my fishin season started. Any other BFTers happen to cross paths out there, give me a wave. If the wind stays down I just might shut the motor down and drift . Gonna feel good to just be back on the water.

Good luck out there tomorrow, it has been slow, went out twice this week and only one cat to show for my time. It was best when we were going as slow as possible 1 mph or slower. We marked a ton of non biting fish straight out from the south marina channel. They dredged that area a couple years back and it is 4 to 5 ft deeper there, than either side. What ever you do, don't turn left or right until you are 100 yds out from the mouth of the channel.

Curt,
Thanks for the south marina advise. I was out there when they were doing that dredging. As long as I've got 3 feet under me I'm in good shape. With the low water level, I never turn either way till I'm getting close to just east of the island.
I put on a Happy Troller today. And I made the 3rd cut in it at the 45 degree mark like many people have advised. With the work I had done on the motor (runs nice and smooth now even way down at lowest idle) and that trolling plate, I should be able to get much slower that before.
Now all I need is a day with no wind and no rain.

One more thing, as of Thursday there was no buoy on the island and I think it is only a foot or so under the water, so be careful, good luck Forest, hope you find a few willing fish.
