Millsite Reservoir - Nice day - fair fishing
#1
I fished Millsite today on my kick boat from 10:30 until 3:30. I fished the upper portion of the reservoir in 10' - 24' of water. I used a medium sink (#3) line in the morning and a fast sink (#7) afternoon with size 4-6 bead head midnight fire crystal bugger, bead head red/olive soft hackle, and an bead head olive leech with a gold rib. I caught one rainbow and the rest were split between cutthroats and splake. No tiger or brown trout today. Most of the fish were hooked near the bottom. The fish were all between 12" - 16" long. The water temperature was 40-41 degrees and the visibility in the water was about 7'. The visibility was better a month ago before we started getting all the winds. The reservoir is still about 7' - 8' from being full. Not great fishing but the weather was good with no wind. [fishin]

Maybe you already know this but they are going to enlarge the spillway and raise the dam 4 feet starting in August and going into 2015. They will be pulling the reservoir level down to complete the work. I'm not sure if there will be enough water left in it for fish to survive over the winter.[:/]
