Hyrum Sloooowww, but not a skunk
#1
Hit Hyrum today with my Dad, it was a great time, but the fish just weren't very playful... After missing my one nice strike trolling, we ended up having to bait fish, my least favorite thing to do, but it did bring in 5 troutskis and a couple are pushing 13" now so they are getting a little bigger... Pretty tough duty to find just a few today, but at least I didn't get skunked again... Later J

[#0000FF]Glad you got rid of that awful smell. See, sometimes ya just gotta go with the flow...and fish where there are fish...and biting fish.

Hope your dad had a good time. My philosophy has long been that days spent fishing are added on to your total lifespan...with bonus days when spent with family or special friends. If not, they should be. But I ain't in charge of that stuff.

Nice of you to give the poor chilly kitties a break. I'm sure they are grateful. Hopefully they will show their gratitude next time you visit them.

Hey thanks for the encouragement. It was great to get out with Dad we don't get a chance very often with his pheasants and farming, but thanks to the rain and the pens being empty we got a day. Always great to go with my Dad. Too bad I didn't get him into more fish though, but we got enough to make it fun.

I'm not sure if those days come off your life, but they are sure the ones that make it great!

My girls are gone spring breaking, so I figure it must be fishing season so I took my FIL over to Hyrum this morning to see if we could catch a couple before the wind showed up. It started out great had my first one before I got 30 ft of line out. I figured it was time for a pay back trip. But that was silly to start thinking. Ended up another slow day, got 4.5 fish on the morning before the white caps chased us off the lake. Rich caught a beauty, it only measured 14", but it was 1.5 lbs and fat. Fun trip.

I hope those cats quit giving me a hard time, seems like everyone else is catching them. So I better try harder. Thanks again. J

Don't know if I will make it down to your ice off Schofield trip, I'd like to, but I got to get my taxes done very soon and farming is right behind it... When you doing the trip? Need to get my truck worked on before I go very far too... Catch ya later... J

Sounds like fun, I suspect you will pass around a few pixs after that trip. Need to get your bro to bring his toon along as well. If I can possibly swing it, I'll see if I can talk him into it as well. Do you just day trip it, or camp? Any rooms close by, probably cheaper than pulling the trailer down. Somehow these long road trips are hard for me to do I prefer something within day trip range and strawberry is at the outer limit of that for me. Seems like its the same drive time as Henry's and the gorge for me so I usually choose one of the other two. We need to find a spot between us to meet at or go fish when you come visit your Dad. Do you have any May trips planned? If so we'll take your Dad & bro fishing and you can visit there. Anyway good luck with the house. You didn't say where? Later J

I make a day trip out of it it's not that far from my house and looks like we're going to build over there in the golf course⛳️ I don't know what I have planning in May I got a feeling until the house is done in September my weekends are all gone.

Now did you take my advice about keeping your mortgage payment low enough you can still afford to fish? Trust me a fisherman doesn't need a show house, else you'll be stuck there showing it off instead of fishing... Not to mention the mortgage penalty to tackle and travel budgets... You don't golf, why pay extra for the window damage?? Have I given ya enough crap yet??? Good luck with the new place.... Later J
