Called Tackle Toms and asked for a report for the site. He said the ice is pretty tight to the shore most places. Open water south of Heron, by the island ramp, and the far north end. Said it is getting real dark, and should go fast. When it does go, he said use a boat if you want a nice ride, but fish the shore if you want to catch fish! They are always generous with advice, so stop in for worms or whatever and support them. Mike

Thanks for the update Mike. Tom has been good to me and I agree we should continue to support his store as well as the other businesses in Cascade. I haven't fished for three weeks because of work and am starting to question my character, priorities and moral integrity.

Thanks for the report I am trying to get up there one night this week. I have not been out since Feb. Starting to wonder how committed i am to fishing.

I fished from shore at Cascade this past weekend, although I did more driving around the lake looking around than I did fishing. I landed 3 around 17" on the south side of the lake - not great numbers, but the fish were healthy and fat. There was still a bunch of ice but it definitely looks ready to break up.

First, cwtob, let me welcome you to the site. You sure do know how to introduce yourself properly, with a good report. Glad you found 'em! Look forward to more reports in the future. Mike
