Wildhorse Perch

What happened to wildhorse? Used to be one of the best perch fisheries in the west. Heard wipers went in to clean up, but don't see any reports from there on this sight.

I haven't been up there in a couple years, but I have heard the water level has dropped significantly up there.

But, I haven't read anything about people not catching them if they are targeting them.

Perch numbers dropped drastically since the introduction of Wipers. Catching a perch at wildhorse these days is just dumb luck. However the Wipers are reaching 10lb+. The lake is very low and it sounds like they will be lifting all limits this summer because the fish will die. They plan to drain it down to nothing.

Before easter we were catching between 15-30 wipers a day. Ramps are un-usable. Forced to launch off the shore.

Got an email from ndow today and they have lifted limits on all gamefish I n wildhorse and willow creek. They expect water levels to drop drastically and O2 levels not high enough to support fish.
I don't fish there but remember this thread and wanted to pass along the info. Hope they get a lot of rain during monsoon months and save some fish.
