Cascade 5/3-5/4
#1
Hi Guys,
I'm new to this forum but I've been on Ice Shanty for a few years now. I'm heading to Cascade this weekend but I've never fished it much during the open water season. Any advice on how to target the trout? I'll have my boat so i would prefer to be trolling but i could drop an anchor somewhere too if they're on the bottom. If i'm trolling how deep should i be targeting. I'm thinking a perch colored Rapala might do the trick. Thanks for any advice you can throw my way and i'm looking forward to contributing to this forum as well. Report will follow on Sunday/Monday.

I can't help you out on Cascade, but I will welcome you to BFT.
I think I have seen a couple of mentions of trout catches since ice off. So if you use the search function and look in the last couple of months you might find some reports.

Good luck on your trip.

Call Tackle Tom in Cascade for up to the minute accurate reports. He's been a great source over the years.

I'm in a similar boat idfisher - I'd like to get up to Cascade in the next week or two to try some trout fishing, but I've only fished Cascade once. I went up in early April when there was still a bunch of ice and did decent fly-fishing from the shore in a couple spots. Let us know how you do!

I called Tackle Tom's and he said that bank fishing is better than trolling right now but if you want to troll you should be using something small like a rapala or a wedding ring with a worm...no flashers yet. He said mid June is when you want to start using the flashers. Hope this helps the rest of you guys.
