Camping areas at Lucky Peak?
#1
Does anyone know of a place to camp over night near Lucky Peak?

I have seen a lot of people camp in the parking lot at spring shores. For actual camping sites you will have to run up the road a mile or two to Mack's Creek

We are going up for a marathon that starts at Lucky Peak. All we need is public land that we won't be kicked off of. What kind of camping is at Mack's Creek? Ron

Ron,
Mack's has multiple tent sites but only 5 RV sites. No power but I think there is some water there. It's not much and the rv sites are across the road from the lake. I think it's only 10 bucks for the rv sites though. I would run up to Arrowrock and camp on the beach but that's another 20 min. or so. Where is this event happening at? The dam or spring shores? I got a few other ideas that would work for a night that are real close. Just dead end dirt roads that no one will bother you for a night or two. You guys are always welcome to stay at our place if that's easier. PM me and we will figure something out.

Big question here is will you have a boat with you? Lucky Peak has a whole bunch of boat camping sites. There is a very nice camp ground straight across from Spring Shores marina ... but you need a boat to get there. There are also a ton of camp sites on the reservoir scattered around the shoreline .. but again, you need a boat to get to them.

We are only going there for a Marathon. It will start at Lucky Peak Lake and then run into Boise. No boat.
