So with everyone talking about how great willard has been I figured I would take my father in law out on Saturday. Well long story short we fished all over both marinas and threw everything we had at them and never got a bite a few guys a had some crappie but I didn't see anyone killing them. Maybe it was just an off day. I guess if you don't have a boat Willard's not so great lol. I did good for wipers earlier in the year from shore but we had a new baby the first week of may and i am just starting to get out again. So i guess the question is, is anyone still having any luck from shore or is it done.

Sorry to hear you didn't get into them. Willard can be a finicky mistress. Makes me feel better that I didn't make it, as that's probably the luck I'd have even with a boat.
As for "over" - don't think it's ever over, just a shift. This year's reports have sounded more stellar than I've seen in years past. A good crop of Walleye, and I'd suspect the change in the bag-limit on Wipers might be playing in.
But there's still the summer Wiper boils yet to come. Likely the Crappie will disperse and be harder to find.
What were you using? Cranks, plastics, bait? Lots of talk about Mussels working well.
