Bass getting ready to spawn at the gorge

Caught a nice bass at the gorge today on a crawdad colored rapala.

She was fat and full of eggs and crawdads. Its about bass time!

Sounds like a good idea to me, lets let all the big females come up to lay a bunch of eggs and before they can dispurse of the eggs lets catch them and eat them. We are having a problem with small mouth population in there and we think it's because of the burbot and I'm not saying the burbot help by all means but I think the red flag of a small mouth spawn bite is what really hurts the fisherie. I wish they would enforce catch and release during a certain time of yr for all fisheries.

Why did you keep a spawning female that was full of eggs? With the small mouth in decline at the gorge, every spawning fish put back helps.
