We went on our annual bass/bluegill memorial weekend trip this last weekend. We caught hundreds of bluegill. Most of them were caught on white sponge spiders. Due to the fact that we caught hundreds of bluegill I didn't spend much time bass fishing. However my son did catch a few bass on pumpkinseed curly tail Texas rig. Did I mention I spent a lot of time unhooking bluegill
It was really great and there really is no better way to get kids excited about fly fishing.
I did catch one bass on a leech and I had one really ambitious bluegill eat a big cheeky mouse.
