Rod Holder Extensions
#1
Now that I have finished re-carpeting the boat I need to mount some rod holders. I have several Scotty rod holders and bases.

In order to mount some of them on the port side storage locker I need to extend them higher.

Has anyone ever used the Scotty 6.5 inch extensions and how well do they work.

Thanks

I've never used Scotty brand rod holder extensions but I do have RAM brand and they work well. I also have Scotty rod holders on my boat, so I would be interested in seeing what the extensions look like and the cost, do you have a link to the site that shows them?

I use one for my GoPro. They are pretty solid. A friend uses on on his pontoon. Been a few years and no problems.

WH2,
I picked up the last one they had at Fish Tech for 14.99. Try the link below to see what they look like. They only come in 6.5 inch.

I have used a pair of them for several years on my boat. The rod holder itself is a Cabela's brand (probably manufactured by Scotty). They have worked great and are primarily used to hold sturgeon rods, so they are quite durable.

Thanks, that looks cheaper than buying another RAM rod holder, they are around $30 each. Here is a pic of how my rod holders are placed.
