Tournaments both days this weekend. I hear black and blue jigs are the ticket.

Heard through the grapevine that it is fishing very well for bass. No info on what the ticket was.

Depends on who you are [Smile]
Was fishing really good for most in a tournament out there two weeks ago, myself not included. Don't really know what the pattern was other than plastic and nothing I threw at that. I would suspect it might be a little tougher, post-spawn type bite.

I'll be around helping with the tournaments this weekend so feel free to stop by and say hi. I'm easy to spot, bright red Alumacraft with a white Riptide trolling motor.

Yeah, the guy that I heard had done well is someone who frequents owyhee, so I think he is generally dialed in on what is going on there.

How was the water level looking when you were out there? I've heard that when it gets really low out there that there are some submerged rocks that can cause some problems? Not sure if that's accurate or not

no worries JB, I don't fish tourny's anymore.
Heard about the Saturday tourny and Jack and Jill on Sunday.

Thanks for the info everyone.

Water is low but I didn't really find anything particularly spooky yet. I know there were guys running all the way up to Doe Island last weekend, but sounds like its pretty skinny from there on.

I heard the winners yesterday were throwing jigs but senkos were working pretty well for most. I ran the scales and weighed a bunch of 5 fish bags in the 14 to 17 pound range.

watched some of the weigh in. looked like same ol bag after same ol bag. but none the less, nice looking fish. I did better using jigs. tried senko's for awhile but just to slow. found I had to cover ground, so a jig worked better for me. not a bad weekend end. the night bite was very good.[Wink]
The crappie, well lets just say you can catch about 300 a day..... all 8 inches. keeps the younger kids entertained.
