are these bluegill or red ear sunfish,someone mentioned they are sunfish? I think their bluegill

If it helps ,they had a dark pattern going "maybe from defending their beds" the same fish later turned a lighter color and removed its fighting stripes.

Well after googling it I lean towards the red ear sunfish and the baring because of the nesting.
