Looked like all the stars had lined up for a good crappie fishing night trip, but the eastern wind blowing kept me unstable to fish the docks that I usually fish so I moved to the leeward side of the lake and found refuge near BTSP. The crappie bite was slow...had 11 fish with only 5 slotters. The best bite of the night was a largemouth bass that thumped my little BGSS on 4lb line and tussled me to get the net. When she first broke water in the moonlight I got all excited and thought that I had "Ms. Piggy"...after netting her and looking at her with my headlight I quickly realized I had just caught "Ms. Twiggy"... she had an 8lb'ers head and only weighed 5.80lbs but the good news is that she showed signs of a healthy spawn and she was released in good shape to do it all again! emoToast
