Good Morning On the Bay
#1
Had a Dr. appointment at 0700 this morning so didn't get on the water until a little after 0800 and started fishing about 0830. My oldest son accompanied me today and we ran two planer boards with cranks and two down riggers. We called it quits about 1040 and had our limit of eyes, we kept 4 wipers for some friends who like them. We culled a few fish of both types. Took a picture of the walleye fillets which a few will go on the grill in a few minutes. Great day and beautiful weather.

They turn out real nice if you bleed your fish first which is something I learned years ago from my dad as I was growing up. I use an electric knife to fillet them.

Packman,

Good speaking with you yesterday--at least I think it was you. I was cleaning some crappie, or at least trying too. I am pretty sure my wife had been using my knife as hatchet. Needless to say they didn't come out as pretty as your fillets.

Nice work

Very nice pile of fillets. You should post a video on 'Youtube' on how to fillet fish.

Yes that was me, didn't know you were a fellow BFT'R. Looked like you had a nice bunch of crappie you were working on. Hope to run into you again. [fishin]

It is pretty much the same technique with all guys that fillet fish with an electric knife. Tube Dude is the real expert at it. [fishin]

But then you wouldn't have all the bones in 'em! You guys tell me that's where all the flavor is!

My kids are spoiled. Never had to pick through a perch/bluegill to get to the good stuff!

Another grand Willard report. ya'll are killing me!

Today was a little tougher for us especially for the walleye. My son and I got on the water about 0730 and off again about noon. Wind was fairly strong out of the North and Northeast all morning. We ended up keeping 4 eyes for dinner the next two nights that ran from 18 to 20 inches. The wipers went crazy on both the worm harness and the cranks. We kept a couple wipers that measured 21 1/2 inches and turned the rest loose. I will give it another shot next Sunday (Father's Day) then it will be off to Starvation for 5 days. I ran into a fellow BFT'R this morning as we were launching I think he said his user name was Humpy but I'm not sure, I hope you guys had a good day on the Bay.
