Bear river 29" cat
#1
So I had the opportunity today to sneak in a few hours fishing with a buddy and decided to hit one of my catfish holes above cutler on the bear. We caught several between 18-23" and I got this 29"er. It was really slim for a fish this long, but what the heck, I'm looking for some upgrades on my contest score and this one does it!

Fun day!

Good one! Kinda skinny but what the heck. Probably a female?

Dang wind has got me grounded... for now. Lots of time left so no panic yet. I think the catin' will just keep getting better all summer long.

Gotta tip my greasy carp-stained hat to ya for posting up some nice cats. Keep 'em coming but keep 'em under 29. [Wink]

Well played, yet again sir. Notching 'em for the North. You da man! I need to get back out and get some big marks myself, before I get distracted with other summer time warm water fishies.

More of that Sucker drawing them in?

Nice job Mike, I take a couple days away and look what ya go and do. So 32, 29 and what is your 3rd place fish now? I know its at least 27 so your getting a tough mark to hit good job. Later J

Thanks yote, sucker is still the bait for me. The fish seem to be slowing down slightly where I've been fishing. I think this has to do with the actual spawn getting ready to happen. Still decent action though. They don't all spawn at once or at the same time though so there will always be some biting.

Hey Jeff, I couldn't help myself. The fishies still call to me! This time though I fished the heat of the day and dead in the middle of it. I felt like a vampire in the sun!

I think I'm at 88.5" now for my total, or I will be after yote updates the scores. I think I saw a 31" got caught on utah lake a day or two ago so the competition is heating up! I'm gonna have to pull out all my good plays to get the other two 30+" kitty cats in the boat.

Boy in years past you would have had the contest wrapped up with that score, but I know there are a lot of master catters still making big marks so good luck keeping the north on top. Hopefully I'll get out in a week or so to help out. Later J

Good luck getting that farming caught up Jeff. There are some bruisers swimming around your place right now. I've lost a couple there boat side lately that would be pushing the 28-30" mark, so go get em and let's school the south on how it's done![Wink]
