Rivermont Jeff, Guntersville, Bass, 6/21/14, Jake
#1
My son Jake and I finished 3rd and Big fish in yesterday's Tennessee Valley Bass Club TX on Guntersville. We both had a great day and jake boated a 4 1/2 lber to get the day started then continued the assault boating two more keepers. It was about 10 am before I boated my first keeper. We traveled around most of the day hitting various spots we had caught them in the past throwing everything but the keys at the.! We made one last stop and I hooked up with one in the 5 lb range that got off, then on the very next cast the 8.17lber hit and made it to the awaiting net. This was the second biggest fish I had ever caught and what a special way to catch it with Jake my son with me. We had a great day on da water caught man y fish and got paid too! On the way to weigh in we encounter the hardest rain I had ever been in on the water. We stopped about 3 miles from the ramp to dawn our rain gear and it didn't do much good. About a mile away from the ramp the bottom fell out! We had 5 mins to go and were running about 35-40 mph. The rain was so hard it hurt! Barely seeing I headed through it the a bolt of lightning struck felt like 3 feet from us so with no place to hide we pressed on. As we arrived at the ramp the rain subsided and it cleared off. But we were soaked from head to toe! What a great way to spend the day! we caught fish on frogs, jigs, buzzbaits, Yum Dinger, and even crank baits! from 2 fow to 15'. we ended up with 20.35lbs for 3rd Congrates to Harmon and Biffle on an impressive win!
