FWIW -- fishing has been very good lately at New Castle. Trolling slow and deep has been producing both a handful of wipers as well as trout. We haven't gotten into anything big, but those 16" wipers can sure fool you into thinking you've got a 20" wiper on! Tons of fun!

No it wasn't in cheek, UDH made a statement recently about fishing it several times a week. I'm not sure if he would be willing to tell him about fishing for wipers but I would bet he has caught a few there. Thanks for the the info about NC, didn't know you fished it that much. I guess my issue with UDH is that it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't". He's always mad. Nothing is right. Everything is bad.


but, you are right. He claims to fish it 3-4 times a week. Same with Gunlock, Sand Hollow, Quail, Minersville.....


....I don't know how he fits that much fishing into a week!


(personally, I wouldn't put much faith into anything that guy says!)

I may try Newcastle next week after the weekend. May try some smallmouth bass fishing after trout fishing. Bought some new pumpkin color curly tail jigs that I need to try out. The fishing report said fair so I'll go early in the morning to beat the heat.
