I took two granddaughters one 13 and the other 18
started out at soldier creek. It was slow ( I think it is geting fished out) but the girls learned how to catch Kokes. and use my downriggers.
after one hour moved to the Meadows.
then things got fun, after I found the right setup. they started catching fish every 5 min. they did everything set the downriggers.
only thing I did was drive the boat and take the hooks out. They would put the fish back in the water.
they got Kokes rainbows and cuts.
after 40 fish in the boat and they missed some.
I asked when they wanted to go home one said never I want to live on this boat.
I was glad when the wind picked up, I told them we had to get off the water.
had the downriggers set at 27 and 30 ft.

"I want to live on this boat..."

It's funny how often that goes through my head too!! Great job!! I'm a little jealous after reading your post. I was planning on heading up there today but the late afternoon wind changed my mind. Oh well, looks like I will just have to fight the crowds tomorrow.

I trolled Renegade Bay on the 5th and caught 16 Cutts. Nothing of any size. I used florescent orange and florescent green dodgers and night crawlers. I launched at 7am and had three fish by 7:15 and thought is was going to be a career day. As it turned out is was below average. I had a hard time finding fish. Glad you and the girls nailed them. The one consolation was the weather. It was a beautiful day with not a lot of wind.

I don't remember ever catching a Koke at Renegade Bay
If I'm thinking of the place that you were at.
green dodgers and worms work good for Cuts and rainbows.
I have some orange dodgers but never use them but I like orange
squids. pink, pink and white squids and pink Berkeley Gulp Maggots was what we were using. and catching the Cuts on a yellow Flat fish. we got some that were 20" but also got some at 6". I know with downriggers you can catch a lot more fish if you can find the right depth. I did not have my fish finder
(maybe that was a good thing)

Not sure HOW I did it as I do fly fish, but I did catch a Koke in Renegade. I was maybe 50' deep in 100' of water. Right at the mouth of the narrows.

I usually fly fish from a pontoon and caught a koke that must have been Confused. I caught it a couple of years ago out of Bryant Fork, was very surprised.
