As I posted on another thread the other day, I did get out to WB early yesterday. Although, I don't know why I even made that effort. I forgot the gate doesn't open until 6 AM. I got there at 5:15 and is was light enough to see to launch, but had to sit and wait while the line got longer behind me (fortunately, I was first at the gate). The day was nice, the weather was just about perfect to start out. I made it all the way up the west wall, then across to some of the bumps and humps near the north marina, not nary a single bite. Set up near the spots I've had fair luck with Cats before. NOPE, they not interested either. And of course, I'm all the way north, and the wind blows up pretty stiff. Luck had it blowing in almost from straight south so I got out in a direct line down the middle and put Tin-Can's teeth into the wind. Got to about 500 yards from the south marina, and the wind slowed down. Tried another couple hours of various lures and sittin still washing worms, but no joy on America's Birthday.
Maybe try again tomorrow, only launch from the north end to begin with.

Well that's too bad about the lack of success but just an FYI, if it is cats you are after, you should be hitting the SW corner of the bay. They are likely spawning now, so if you find one there will be others in that area.

We were also on willard for the 4th of July. We trolled crawler harness for 1.5 hours and not a single bite. We then trolled cranks for another 2.5 hours and zip, nip, nada!!!! I was fairly surprised how few boats there were for the 4th.

The cats we caught bottom bouncing Friday were all females with eggs, good eating filets.

Well, gonna try again in the morning. Think I'll just pick a spot and anchor out, put the top up, turn the radio on, and kick back.
