Mud Hole features rod building experts; TV and bass fishing pros at ICAST
#1
Meeting with tackle dealers about opportunities selling MHX blanks & rod components

Mud Hole Custom Tackle’s rod building experts, backed by three professional fishermen, will be meeting with tackle dealers at ICAST, offering unique wholesale rod building and tackle crafting sales opportunities for dealer’s stores.

“The popularity of rod building and other do-it-yourself activities in the recreational fishing market have grown substantially over the past decade,” said Scott Gimbert, Mud Hole’s Custom Tackle’s vice president of the global e-retailer and mail order company.

“Small and median-sized tackle stores can’t buy direct from the large component manufacturers who expect large orders on rod parts,” Gimbert said, “so many tackle shops don’t offer their anglers simple repairs like replacing tip tops or guides for rods because they don’t know where or how to go about ordering the parts.

“That’s why we’re here at ICAST. You can’t buy just 15 different tops from the other component companies but you can buy just 15 from Mud Hole,” he said.

“It gives us valuable face time meeting with the dealers and lets us promote Mud Holes’ wholesale side, our private and proven MHX brand name and so many other necessary fishing components to dealers and small rod companies. They don’t have to have large buy-ins. Spend $350 dollars on your opening order and you’re good to go.

“There are quite a few tackle stores or small rod companies starting their own rod lines. With over 360 rod blank models to choose from with lifetime warranties, MHX is the number one selling blank in the world,” said Gimbert. “So we encourage them to ‘build your next quality rod line on MHX blanks.’ From ice fishing to fly fishing, from bass, to surfcasting, to offshore; no matter if you’re in Montana, Minnesota or the N.C. Outer Banks, we’ve got you covered.”

Pro anglers answer variety of questions at Mud Hole exhibit #2645

TV fishing hosts Henry Waszczuk and Larry Dahlberg, plus Bassmaster Elite angler Brandon Lester will be on hand at the Mud Hole exhibit #2645. They all build their own fishing rods using Mud Hole’s popular MHX blanks for use on their telecasts, travels or competitions.

Master angler Waszczuk who fishes around the world for his award-winning Fishing the Flats seen on the Fox Sports, WFN and DISH, will answer questions on tackle, rods and travel gear they should take when they are heading to a great fishing destination. He’ll also be signing free copies of his Fins & Skins Classic Adventures magazine and giving out free Mud Hole hats.

Dahlberg, host for 22 years of Hunt for Big Fish on the Outdoor Channel, will also be fielding both fresh-and-saltwater fishing questions. Mud Hole sponsors “Larry’s Workshop” segments explaining and demonstrating what he used during the show, the rod’s dynamics and how the viewer/do-it-yourselfers can build a finished rod with help from Mud Hole’s specialists.

Lester one of the top young guns on the Bassmaster Elite Series will be talking bass with the many tackle dealers throughout the country specializing in the species.

“On the circuit when anglers see the Mud Hole and MHX logos on my boat at the lake or when visiting the local tackle stores, it spirits conversations about building their own rods,” he said. “And the tackle shops express interest hand-crafting a rod series from the MHX blanks.”
