Lost Creek 08-06-14
#1
WaveWolf and I hit LC today. Great morning and we were the first boat on the lake. We had it all to ourselves for the first hour, then two more boats showed up. Lake is down a ways but still fine for launching. It was slow for us in the morning but we ended up with 14 trout, most were cutts but we did manage two bows. Nice day at the lake and to make things better we saw deer, turkey, bald and golden eagle and some type of hawk. Not to mention at least 6 different types of ducks. That road in from the freeway is crap but I guess that keeps a lot of boats. As always, I enjoyed getting out and fishing with you CarDell. Sorry folks, no pic today.

[#484848]WH2 took the old guy to school. I did catch one little chub and he let me catch a couple of cutts.[/#484848]
[#484848]I had a grundle of hits, but I was trying something new by trolling a fly with a downrigger and either they would hit it and it wouldn't release, or if it released, it would not hook up. [/#484848][#484848]I probably didn't have enough tension between the pole and the clip, but that's fishing. and it helps the drive to insanity.[/#484848]

[#484848]What a great day. It reminded me of the old Louis Armstrong song "What a Wonderful World".[/#484848]

Were you trolling? Vertical jigging? What lures were effective?

Yes, we were trolling at 1.3 to 1.5 mph. Wavewolf was using a yellow woolly bugger, I believe and I had my best luck on the epic lure behind a hammered silver dodger. We did not find any good groups of fish until just before were were leaving, on our way back to the ramp. We were using downrigger at 30 to 35'.
