Tarik Henein, from Canada along with his two sons, Alex and Nicholas, who just turned 8, chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some big game deep sea sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale. FL. The family was down in Ft. Lauderdale visiting the grandparents and they decided to go fishing the last week of their vacation. Winds were out of the north at 5 mph, seas running 3-4 ft., blue skies, temperature in the low 90's. This was Nicholas' first time fishing and he was all enthused about his fishing trip. After a fifteen minute scenic cruise of Fort Lauderdale on the way out, lines were in 120 ft of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale. We put two plainers down, one with a 3 1/2 blue reflector drone spoon and the other with a pink and blue sea witch in front of a double hooked Bonito strip. For surface baits we had four Bonito strips. Before the fourth line was out, the action started - all three lines were hooked up. Nicholas jumped into the fighting chair to do battle with his first fish and he reeled in a 9 lb Bonito. His father and brother, Alex, brought in the other two fish, both Bonitos. We put out our fishing lines again and I trolled towards one of our 34 artificial wrecks located here in Fort Lauderdale. Again the action started, hooked up on five fish!!!!!! All the anglers took turns bringing in the fish. As I got over the wreck, the bottom plainer rod bent over - Nicholas was the angler again. He reeled in a 9 lb Cubera Snapper, to our surprise. The action never stopped - we wound up with 23 Bonitos, two Kingfish, two Tunas and the Cubera Snapper. With plenty of fish for dinner tonight, the anglers retired in the a/c salon for the ride back
