I have been tying for years from a cache of mustad streamer hooks that my dad left when he passed away. I have found the hooks aren't very sharp and don't hold the point that they have. Can someone recommend a good sharp streamer hook?

I too quit using Mustad. I buy Allen Fly Fishing hooks.

I typically use Daiichi, TMC (Tiemco), Mustad, Alec Jackson (if you can find them) and Allen. I've found Daiichi and Jackson to be the sharpest, but the Allen hooks are strong and sharp too.

Justin and Evan are pretty picky about their hooks. I thought they were like the old Tiemco. The new Tiemco suck in my opinion.[:p] I agree Daiichi are a great hook. Gamakatsu as well.

Depends on what streamers you are tying--- But Daiichi 2461, TMC 5263 and 300, Gamakatsu B10S all work very well for a specific pattern.
