First ducks of 2014!
#1
The wife, a friend and I hit a pond on the BRBR saturday morning early, duck season's finally here!

The action wasn't as hot and heavy as we'd hoped, but the birds kept flying all morning so we stayed and scratched a few down. Pintails pintails pintails....we probably saw 70% pinnies and probably close to 1000 of them.

The best parts were the we had no one within half a mile of us (and then only one group) and that the ducks were listening to calling! Who knew the duck opener on the wasatch front could be like that??

Can't wait to get back out there this week! Good hunting folks!

Nicely done. We only shot 3 mallards, but had a fun trip.

Very nice! Back when I was an avid duck hunter I used to set up on the potholes on public just across the fence from the BRBR...always awesome, filled my Swan permits from that spot.

I have seen a lot of swans dropped in that area when it used to be legal. Now you can't even hunt them there. They try and jam all the swan hunters into the refuge now a days.[crazy][frown][:/] Argggggggg
