Water level is way down compared to last year, most of the lake is now only 15' deep, never saw anything deeper than 20', and water is very muddy. We managed a dozen to the boat, lost just as many, so it wasn't a horrible day. No luck dragging around cranks, switched and caught them off pop gear and a worm, kastmaster, and a few on the fly rod. Caught several chubs and cutts, biggest of the day was a 17" cutt. We saw a few boats pushed up on the island, took a few minutes to realize they were duck hunting, so we took off and got out of their hair. Not nearly as good as it was last year for us, but still a great place.

Thanks for the report, and glad you caught a few. I need to stock up on chubs for ice fishing, and will hit it on the 22nd on my to the Front for a continuing education course, or on my way back home it on the 25th. Yuba is the other destination on the must hit list for October. I just hope to not catch 'just chubs' while I am there.
