I am planning a trip to ririe res. This weekend. I am wondering if anyone can or will steer me in the right direction? Pm if you want. I would be willing to share some Preston area info thanks Troy

Right now your best bet will be trolling for trout with spinners and wooly buggars. I would launch at black tail and troll in the areas surrounding the picnic area. I am not sure about fishing from the shore. My favorite time to fish ririe is in June for the kokes. Let me know how it goes, I will be up there on Columbus Day.

I'll second most of that. I would add crank baits trolling. This time of year I've done well on #7 rapala in silver or gold. Kastmasters, and bass cranks have also done well. Oh, and holographic panther martins. Troll anywhere in sight of the blacktail ramp but I've also heard up the various arms can be good. If you fish from shore I'd recommend the ririe side and fish from the boat docks up res (away from the dam) up to the small bay. I've caught many trout through there on the PMs.

Friday was pretty slow. We caught 3 lost 5 at the boat. Saturday morning was much better we caught 15 by noon. Most 17-18 " cuts and one 17" brook . Lost two bigger cuts before the net. We trolled Rapalas 2.3mph
