The cold north wind made fishing on the Big-G a little tougher today compared to all of last week. We had to really slow things down a little and move out to some deeper grass to get fish to hit. We still had some nice fish to hit and was able to connect to a few despite the cooler air temps. This cold front will really get things cranked up after it all settles back down. The water temps are finally in the mid 60's and the next few weeks should be great for some aggressive action on some good quality fish. Today we slow rolled spinnerbaits and shakers by Choo Choo Lures in 8-10 ft. of water with 7'3" heavy action Hammer Rods, and the fish that we did get to hit would just "slam" our baits. This is a good sign for the next few weeks with these fish already getting aggressive. The grass mat's are also looking a little better after getting beat up by the storms. It should not take long for the "muck" to get built back up, so these areas should get back to normal in the next few days for the Snag Proof Frog bite. It's the time of year for some aggressive fall fishing action so make plans to get out and enjoy it. Have fun, Mike Carter
