started out at pineview today with ifg, blm, and muskyhunter. ice didnt look to good and was a ft of slush. so we headed to rockport. after blm got a warning from weber county sheriff to not pee on the side of the road, got to rockport about 8:30 fishing was hot all day for rainbows and perch, where alot of bfters out there, preditor, chestor, wando, gots2fish was good seeing you all there if there was anyone else out there we where the loud group you could hear all over the lake, i lost a 19in bow at the hole that would have been the biggest. on the way back up to the truck i spranged my ancle really bad thanks chester for helping us get the sled up the hill and your son for helping me up. as alway it was a blast fishing with fellow bfters. i'm sure ill catch flack over falling again ifg says i need training wheels. he's probly right

How much snow was on the ice? Would you recommend ice spikes?

I seen someones tracks on Pineview but left late waiting on a friend . I wanted to go Rockport after I got soaking wet at Pineview , but held out and fished it about 3 hours . BLM , I got away with that 4 times today on the road . LOL I did run into a BFTer at Pineview . I believe he said he was Smitty . We where the first on the ice with others to follow and some turned away after we told them they are going to get wet . Who walk on the water this morning before I got there ? IFG ? Should of tried the other side . LOL How was the snow on Rockport ? Same or fresh snow on the ice .

Great to meet all you BFTers today. I can tell you guys are the life of the party. I was laughing my a$!!$ off just listening to you guys. Fishing was good all day. It was good to have some nice weather after stepping through the ice on the way in. I'm sure IFG would agree! I went through again on the way out only with the other leg.

MH,

You don't need to cover for BLM anymore. We know the little poles are for him. Now everyone knows he is a tiny fish specialist. Now with his upcoming name change to PerchSlayer, the teacher becomes the student!

I can't believe the weather turned out so good today. I finally decided to head up to pineview when the sun was almost done shining. I arrived about 4:20pm and noticed most of the people were leaving. Instead of taking my auger down to the ice I just took my pole and some meals worms and made the walk down to the slush. What a mess, after walking 50 yards or so I found an open hole and started jigging. I was getting some lite bites but only hooked one 9 inch perch. That was enough for me, so I slushed my way to shore and climbed up to the parking lot. It was almost dark by then and it was getting cold. I think a lot of the slush will freeze tonight if it stays as cold as it was when I left. I think Rockport sounds good for tomorrow. WH2

Trappers Loop is reading 13.3 degrees right now (9:30pm) so it might get a ice crust on it .
