Mead 10 Nov 2014
#1
A whole lotta more people out there than I was expecting. This was one of the very few times I have been able to hit the lake during a weekday. Not that it really makes a difference when one is chasing Stripers. Just surprised me.

The last time we launched out of Boulder was back in January. What a difference! It was 27 feet deeper back then.

Took a while to finally get some shad onboard. Saw lots of them but just wasn't able to get them in the net initially. I imagine one of those situations one needs a net with heavier weights to get down faster. Once I moved to a pinch dirtier water they didn't see it coming and got a bucket full onboard.

Stripers on the other hand... Just wasn't happening. I was really hoping to get into them. Not really for me but for the girls. This was the first trip on Lake Mead or even in the boat for my youngest (Kate). I really wanted her to be able land a pile but how it goes. She did catch the first and second but that was about as far as it went. Madi got the 3rd and that was all she wrote for us.

Winds... Ya the weather guesser was saying less than 6mph winds for the day... Try 20+ at one point. We all got soaked big time and the garage is currently sitting at 75% + humidity right now with the boat drying out in it.

Regardless 3 was plenty with one fillet left over for dinner since the wife doesn't like Stripers and the youngest hasn't quite acquired the taste for fish yet. Madi and I ate well!

Kaitlyn for the first time being posted on a fishing forum.

It's always great taking the kids out. Sorry the fish weren't more cooperative.

Great report either way!
