okuma reels

anybody here use okuma reels i am thinking of buying a convector series model CN-30C your opinion please this is a open face casting reel here is a link to there home page if you would like to check it out

Hi there aquaman,

Never owned one but have sure kept an eye on their progress here in the US.

I like the idea of the aluminum spool.

Brass Gears!!

The frame and sideplates are graphite which makes it light but.....

It has only 2 ball bearings.

The truth is that Shimano has so dominated the market here in California, with their quality and service, it's hard not to recommend TLD's, etc.

The cosmetics of the Okuma line sure are nice.

From a industry watchers view, I see too many models which will come back to haunt them in the not too distant future.

I sure would like to see more ball bearings!!!!

[size 2] I have both spinning and conventional Okuma Reels. Not a big fan of there rods though. Like the reel, I do not know the models right off hand but I have never had an issue with them[][/size]
