Strawberry on Saturday
#1
Lurker here making an effort at being more active on the forum...

Headed to Strawberry early Saturday morning. Fishing was super slow. Had a few short and subtle strikes and only one fish hooked. It was a nice sized rainbow caught on a small worm drop shot rigged above a 1/8oz tube jig around 10' to 15' down (guesstimating).

We were with the masses at Chicken Creek East. Ice was consistently about 4 inches in the 3 spots we tried. The early morning was beautiful, but the wind picked up as the day went on. Got mixed reports of fishing success from others on the ice.

We were out there with you, found about the same success. We did get into a few more fish though, 30' of water and the fish were coming in suspended at 20'. Finder showed plenty of fish coming though and most would move to the jigs, take a look, and move one without touching it. No amount of jigging, not jigging, or different lures could convince them otherwise. We ended up with four between the two of us including one fatty bow that came home for the smoker.

We were up there on Saturday as well. Caught around 12 and missed just as many. Best fish was this 22" Cutt.
