Willard ice

Someone tell me there is safe ice for Saturday morning. I wanted to hit it hard, but hasn't gone as planned.

I'm going unless someone gives me bad news. Not worried about the skunk.

I have also been wanting to hit Willard. Reports from the DWR officer is that "the ice is getting thicker despite the warm weather." They did not list if this means it has safe ice or not however.

I sure can't give you any first hand, up to date info but I did get out there a couple of weeks ago. At that time it was 4 inches of clear ice in the main body of the lake and 4.5 to 5" in the North marina, with a little open water near the ramp, where a spring comes in. Since then I have driven by there twice and noticed more open water in the marina and the edges are opening up in the Bay. It might be ok, once you get on the ice but my best guess would be to bring a plank. Oh, by the way, the South marina was open at that time but we did not check the ice. Hope that helps.
