Imaginary Lakes next year?
#1
We've already in a drought and this winter we've gotten hardly any precipitation. I'm not much of an ice fisherman but you guys are having to be a lot more careful this time of year than in the past. It probably is going to get worse for you guys as well because it's supposed to reach 50 or hover around there for over a week. As a state we're only at 88% snow pack right now and it's melting with out temperatures. I'm not sure if there's an argument for Global warming not existing anymore. But yeah if things don't pick up, do you guys thing will be any real lakes next year(in particular ones like Utah Lake)?

Weather happens in cycles especially here in utah we've had worse droughts than this one.

Hell, if Utah Lake dries up, the North may actually be able to put up some respectable numbers in the cat contest this year...[Image: happy.gif]

The low snow year has really shown it's ugly head this year. As a backcountry skier it is SHOCKING how little of snow is resting on them hills. At the same time I really worry about those little bodies of water, especially the ones near Moab going dry.

But the plus side is I might be able to kick off Backpacking the Uintas earlier than usual!

Hopefully we go the way of Cali and ban water use on the lawns until conditions improve. We live in a desert, and its time to act like it!
