Hi all,
New to posting on here!
We hit up Strawberry the other day on the Soldier Creek side just off the boat ramp. We got in around 9:00 am and only caught 2 fish in the first 6 hours or so, but then the action picked up a bit.
From about 2:30 - 5:00 we caught 11 fish with a couple being the 15" variety. Most of the fish we caught were in 8' of water on either small ice flies or white and yellow hair jigs tipped with chub.
While at 8' the water was crystal clear and you could watch the fish come up and play with your bait the entire time. They were definitely running around in schools. We would go 10 minutes without seeing a fish and then all of the sudden a blip on the fish finder and it was on. Most were fairly small, but there were some monster cuts swimming around down at the bottom checking things out.
All in all we pulled up 13 fish between the 3 of us. While it wasn't a banner day, it was still a blast!
