Is it over ?

It is 57 degrees in Blackfoot . Supposed to be in the 50's the next 10 days . This could be the shortest hard water season I have ever seen . Time to get out the jet boat .

65 degrees in Pocatello today. There is supposed to be a fishing derby on Devils Creek this weekend. You won't catch me out on that ice. I would be highly disappointed in the people putting it on if it was not canceled. I don't think anybody needs to fall through the ice.

The AFS fishing derby that they used to have up at chesterfield a few years ago. It is the Grad students in the Fisheries Biology department at the Univeristy.

In my opinion Devils Creek is to small to suport any tournament .

with the amount of fish they plant in it, it can probly handle it but it wont produce many fish over 20". I know the weston market has signs up to put on a tourney over 3 bodies of water, deep cr. weston and twin on the 21st... maybe open water?

10 feet of open water on the edge at Chesterfield yesterday, with water draining through the ice in several places when you were out on it.

Weston is definitely too small for a tournament, especially with how low it was at the end of last year. Not that it matters, it's all going to be open water by then.

I am afraid you are right. I wanted to get out to mud lake, paliSades and IP res but it may not happen. Ririe was slick on Sat and got 2 perch on 4-7 inches of ice.
