As of 6:00 p.m. 1-08-04 It is open water from the spring all the way to the parking lot and the dairy. So it is open for fishing. The biggest pike ever caught out of Redmond was 19 pounds 2 ounces a good friend of mine caught it. There are lot's of coffee stories about ones bigger than the tail gate but they are just that coffee talk. Believe them if you will but there's no evidence of any bigger than 19 pounds. The best way is either with a minnow under a bobber or with a sinker off the bottom with a minnow. Minnow preferred anchovies, sardines, carp minnows, suckers, red siders, or whatever minnow you prefer. The redmondites would appreciate if you bring your camera's and take a picture of the one you catch and then turn it loose to fight again another day. These pike are the nastiest fish you'll ever eat. Because of the spring water. My two cents. The pikeman P.S. February is the best month of the year to fish for pike in redmond.
